ADVERTS Tebelopele Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) Centre is an NGO providing HIV/AIDS services through its 16 centres across the Country. Tebelopele provides Confidential, free, same-day high-quality HIV testing , and referral services throughout Botswana. Tebelopele is a partner in implementing Combination Prevention Project named Ya Tsie providing VCT and linking clients to care. Ya Tsie is a research study being conducted in 30 communities in Botswana to learn whether implementation of an enhanced combination prevention package [HIV Testing and Counselling (HTC), Prevention of Mother To Child Transmission (PMTCT), Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), and Safe Male Circumcision (SMC)] can significantly reduce HIV incidence in Botswana over a period of 36 months. Tebelopele is working with the Ministry of Health (MOH), the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Botswana Harvard Partnership to implement this study. Tebelopele will be responsible for scaling up home-based and mobile HTC services and strengthening linkages to follow-up services including care and treatment, SMC, and PMTCT in 15 of the 30 Ya Tsie communities. To continue with these services, Tebelopele seeks the services of highly motivated and results driven individuals for the following services: 1. PROJECT MANAGER MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Project Manager provides overall coordination for technical and operational management of the HIV Testing and Counselling, and Linkage to Care components of the Ya Tsie study. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management of HTC and Linkage to Care study operations in the 15 combination prevention communities randomly selected to participate in Ya Tsie. The Project Manager will also oversee data abstraction procedures for HTC services in 15 enhanced care communities. S(he) will provide supervision and support to the HTC Team Leaders and Linkage to Care Coordinators. The Project Manager will be thoroughly versed in the Ya Tsie protocol and will work with all Tebelopele Ya Tsie staff as well as collaborate with the other Ya Tsie partners to ensure that study procedures are implemented with fidelity to the protocol and timelines. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPREINCE • Master’s Degree in Public Health or Degree in Health related training plus 5 years relevant work experience, 2 years being at managerial level, in an HIV Testing and Counselling or HIV prevention program or activity • Light vehicle driving license - “Class B”. Additional class acquired is also desirable, without unspent convictions. 2. TEAM LEADER (2) MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Team Leader has the overall responsibility of planning, organising, leading and coordinating a specific Ya Tsie mobile team and HTC activities. The Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of HTC study operations in the 15 communities randomly selected to participate in Ya Tsie. S(he) will provide supervision and support to the HTC Nurse Counsellors, Counsellor Supervisors, and Lay counsellors. The Team Leader will be thoroughly versed in the Ya Tsie protocol and will work with the Project Manager to ensure that study procedures are implemented with fidelity to the protocol and timelines. S(he) will also provide HIV counselling and testing services to clients as may be required. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPREINCE • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Education, Nursing or an equivalent qualification plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar job environment • Or • Diploma in the fields mentioned above, plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar job environment. 3. M&E OFFICER MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The M&E Officer has responsibility for the collection, merging and analysis of all activity based information within Tebelopele as a Super User. The M&E Officer will be thoroughly versed in the Ya Tsie protocol and will work with the Project Manager to ensure that study procedures are implemented with fidelity to the protocol and timelines. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPREINCE Essential • Diploma in Computer Science/ Computer Studies, demography. • Certificate in M&E of HIV/ AIDS programs. • 3 years’ experience working in HTC environment. • Light vehicle driving license - “Class B”. Additional class acquired is also desirable, without unspent convictions. Desirable Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or equivalent. 4. LTC COORDINATORS (2) MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Linkage to Care Coordinator shall be responsible for the overall management of community based Linkage to Care counsellors and clients support to enrol in the different and appropriate support programs. The Linkage to Care Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Linkage to Care counsellors in their community. S(he) will provide supervision and support to the Linkage to Care counsellors . The Linkage to Care Coordinator will be thoroughly versed in the Ya Tsie protocol and will work with the Project Manager to ensure that study procedures are implemented by Linkage to Care counsellors with fidelity to the protocol and timelines. S(he) will also provide HIV counselling and testing services to clients as may be required. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPREINCE Essential • Diploma in nursing, Public Health, Social work or similar academic qualification. • Project management skills. • 5 years relevant work experience in an HIV/AIDS field. • Light vehicle driving license - “Class B”. Additional class acquired is also desirable, without unspent convictions Desirable • Degree in nursing, Public Health, Social work or similar academic qualification. 5. HTC NURSE COUNSELLORS (2) MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Nurse Counsellor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of HTC study operations in the 15 communities randomly selected to participate in Ya Tsie. S(he) will provide supervision and support to the HTC Lay counsellors. The Nurse Counsellor will be thoroughly versed in the Ya Tsie protocol and will work with the Team Leader to ensure that study procedures are implemented by HTC Lay Counsellors with fidelity to the protocol and timelines. S(he) will also provide HIV counselling and testing services to clients. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Diploma in Nursing • Registered with the Nursing Council • 5 years extensive experience in an HIV Testing and Counselling environment. • Supervisory experience 6. HTC COUNSELLOR SUPERVISORS (4) MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Counsellor Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of HTC study operations in the 15 communities randomly selected to participate in Ya Tsie. S(he) will provide supervision and support to the HTC Lay counsellors. The Counsellor Supervisor will be thoroughly versed in the Ya Tsie protocol and will work with the Team Leader to ensure that study procedures are implemented by HTC Lay Counsellors with fidelity to the protocol and timelines. S(he) will also provide HIV counselling and testing services to clients. QUALFIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Essential • A Diploma or Certificate in relevant subject (includes Public Health, nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Education and Nursing). Desirable • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related field (includes Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Education and Nursing). • Supervisory experience 7. LOGISTICS OFFICER (2) MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Logistics Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day logistics of the Ya Tsie study. S(he) will provide support to the Project Manager and Team Leads. The Logistics Officer will be thoroughly versed in the Ya Tsie protocol and will work with the Project Manager and Team Leads to ensure that study procedures are implemented with fidelity to the protocol and timelines. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPREINCE Essential • Diploma in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration or similar academic preparation. • 3 years relevant work experience. • Light vehicle driving license - “Class B”. Additional class acquired is also desirable, without unspent convictions Desirable • Degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration or similar academic preparation. 8. HTC LAY COUNSELLORS (34) MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Lay Counsellor will be responsible for providing counselling and HIV testing and Point of Care CD4 testing services in home-based and community-based (tent and mobile caravan) settings in the 15 communities randomly selected to participate in Ya Tsie. The Lay Counsellor will be thoroughly versed in the Ya Tsie protocol and will work with the Team Leader and Nurse Counsellor and/or Counsellor Supervisor to ensure that study procedures are implemented with fidelity to the protocol and timelines. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • “O” Level plus a Certificate in HIV/AIDS Counselling and rapid testing. • Certificate in CHCT is an added advantage. • Training in PMTCT and SMC counselling also added advantage 9. HTC LINKAGE TO CARE OFFICER (8) MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The HTC/Linkage to Care Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day follow-up of clients referred for care and treatment including PMTC services under the guidance and supervision of the Linkage to Care Coordinator. The HTC/Linkage to Care Counsellor will be thoroughly versed in the Ya Tsie protocol and will work with the Linkage to Care Coordinator to implement study procedures with fidelity to the protocol and timelines. S(he) will also provide HIV testing and counselling services to community members as may be required. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • “O” Level plus a Certificate in HIV/AIDS Counselling and rapid testing. • Certificate in CHCT is an added advantage. • Experience in working in a clinical setting dealing with PMTCT, TB, SMC, and/or ART The organisation offers a competitive package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
