ADVICE NEEDED for Special Parents #psnm00405 We need help. We live in Illinois and currently receive both Medicaid and several hours for a home based healthcare worker to come to our home and with our 7 year old spastic quad c.p. daughter (love of our lives). I am eligible to retire next spring and we would love to leave Illinois, preferably to Texas (our home state), Arizona (because weve heard such good things about their benefits) or Florida (because we loooove the state). However, were afraid to leave and lose our Medicaid for her in any of the aforementioned states. Can anyone please offer us some advice on how to make this transition as smoothly as possible (if at all), and what steps we might take to get the ball rolling as soon as possible? Thank you!
