ADVICE TO SG - Perhaps this wall might be the appropriate place to share this because I have seen discussions / exchanges going on right here. In as much as the SG stands for truth and truth a lone, I think its appropriate if he work on his tone, diction, emotions and should know what to say / comment where, when and how to do it. I think I will be right to say he engages fans too much unnecessary on social media. Instead of spewing out ‘English’ which fans doesn’t need on social media, he do many press conferences to talk to fans through the media, make use of the website like you are doing and above all, adapt to one of the basic elements of communication – using the simplest language that make makes sense to every one coz fans are not in any English class anyway. I believe the SG work for one fan base and he should be a unifying factor not a divisive factor. Why do I say so? I read his comments about the ‘300’ / few fans who are registered as the main section that will work for the greater future of this club. Trust me SG, as much as some people may refer to the so many unregistered fans as ‘chatter boxes’, the club needs them and needs them a great deal because the few registered members will take the club nowhere regardless of the many good ideas they might harbor. Why? Let’s look at the most easiest and practical examples: (1) - The few registered members will discuss and implement good ideas about merchandise which in real sense, will be targeting the larger fan base which forms the part of unregistered fans. What will happen if there is a clear white line between registered members and fans who at that time will observing their lines and theirs will just be to watch matches and that’s it? Who will buy the stuffs if the unregistered fans rejects them? (2) - Simple things like gate collections should be out there and it should not spark any sort of ugly arguments like we witnessed jana. Trying to be rigid will only help in creating sides and I believe the few registered members will not be the only ones buying match tickets. What will happen if the so many thousands will decide that let the ‘300’ registered fans buy tickets but hao pia lazima waone mpira? They will bribe their way in or gates will go down na wataona mpira and do we have any court in Kenya where a mob can be sued or charged without even one person being identified? The club will poteza money and that money is the one only few registered members should get info about. (3) - Assuming the club haina sponsor like now and its only through the power of fans that the club can survive, are we going to focus on the ‘300’ registered members or the larger fan base ? I hope we all understand when it comes to ‘membership’, it can be hard to tell the ‘300’ members for instance to part with 10k per month as opposed to telling the many thousands (assume they are 30,000) to part with 100 bob per month. Am I making any sense? (4)....... In short,as a servant leader of the fans, forget about the smaller group you talked about, control your engagements online coz people will interpret you differently on various issues at a time when you are even right kwasababu people have different levels of understanding, continue with the good work you are doing, think of how well to work with the many fans and make them have that sense of belonging instead of kuwaweka mbali na kila kitu itakuwa safi. You can have that smaller group which can discuss inner issues like amending the constitutions, which strategies should be implemented to achieve the best and which path should be followed for the betterment of the club but never overlook / dismiss the power of the larger fan base. Awachoni kaka osiepna kabisa. PAMOJA TUNAWEZA.
