ADVISORY message for #grassfire at #PacificPines (#GoldCoast)– grass fire as at 4pm: Queensland Fire and Emergency (QFES) crews are working to contain a large grass fire at Pacific Pines on the Gold Coast. The fire began as a vehicle fire around 12.30pm near Elkins St and is approximately eight hectares in size encroaching on Nerang State Forest and homes in Wunburra Circuit. Ten crews are on scene suppressing the fire and providing structural protection for nearby homes. A smoke hazard is affecting the area. Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed and keep medications for respiratory conditions close by. Motorists are urged to drive to conditions.
