AETER AYAWADDY COME THANLWIN We have worried to protect from danger. (NaWaTa) Former military government allowed to construct hydro power project dam at Myitsone area. They made this decision without public right. They emphasized to take corruption money from China Electric Power company. This project was started under the new government. After President U Thein Sein implemented the political and economical reforms, we have chance to study and concern about the project.The academic technician, environmentalist and public submitted a proposal to the President to stop Myitsone hydro power project. Finally, the president has postponed Myitsone project. Former military government has also allowed to construct 7 hydro power project on the Thanlwin river. If this 7 hydro power project are constructed it can spoil the river ecology, biodiversity and socialdiversidy and decrease of forest area, endanger wildlife scentuary area, agriculture farm. The local people have opportunity to use sustainable utilization of environmental resources for their livelihood. We need to participate in the conservation and management of the value of Thanlwin river to protect strongly decreasing and degrading of River ecology and Environmental resources.
