AFC MAUL MATHARE A goal each from each half ensured a maximum three points and a famous win against Mathare United at Leopards second home Mumias Complex Stadium. The win, the second in a row pushes Leopards to the fifth position with 24 points on the log and only 8 points from leaders Gormahia FC who have collected 32 points. Dependable central defender Nahimana Jonas headed home the first goal in the 20th minute to set the temple for the rest of the match. Team captain Martin Imbalabala showed leadership from the front by netting in the second goal in the 11th minute of the second half to send the jubilant Ingwe fans into a frenzy. Ingwe were to dictate pace in the entire second half after taking over the midfield and could terrorize Mathare defense line at will. Belgian tactician Luc Eymael spiced up the match in the second half by bringing in veteran midfielder Charles Okwemba for Edward Seda and Mike Khamati for Noah Wafula. But it was Ugandan import Dan Wagaluka’s debut in the 80th minute that excited the stadium as the lethal striker exhibited some quality soccer upfront. Wagaluka replaced Paul Were who had done a fair share of tormenting Mathare’s defense line.
