** AFTERNOON EDITION ** MATERNAL HEALTH BUDGET Civil Society Organizations advocating for access to essential health services in Uganda demand that Parliament does not approve the 2014/2015 budget unless it includes significantly increased investments in recruitment and motivation of health workers. Robina Biteyi, the national coordinator of the White Ribbon Alliance says that there is no better investment than in the health sector, which will increase productivity and ensure economic development. They call for an increase in the budget of the health sector form 97bn to 150bn.
