AICPA News: Last week, the AICPA testified that the current system of state taxes on non-resident employees unnecessarily creates complexity and costs for both employers and employees and that states would lose minimal revenue if the bill were to become law. The bill is in its second year and has strong bipartisan support. AICPA Congressional and Political Affairs Director Brady King told BNA he hoped the bill could go to the full House before the Memorial Day recess, though it may get delayed due to other state tax bills on the Judiciary Committees agenda.
