AIDS Walk 2014 Saturday, October 4th 9 AM to 11 AM Can you mark your calendar for the date? Every year in October, we designate a Saturday morning to join together as a community to walk. We gather pledges and walk 3 miles to make a LOCAL difference in the fight against AIDS. Anyone and Everyone can Walk with us to show unity in the fight against AIDS. We want families, friends, schools, clubs, corporate teams, individuals, and persons living with HIV/AIDS. You can bring your own banners to walk with! Whatever amount of money you raise, we want you! We also encourage people to design their own signs! The more colorful and meaningful your sign is, the better! We are seeking 100 Walkers who will be one of the following: One of 50 people, to pledge to raise $100 dollars and; One of 25 people to pledge to raise $250 dollars and; One of 25 people to raise $500 We have one month to fill these slots!!! Will you pledge to fill one of these slots in any category? Will you challenge someone to do the same? If we have just 100 people show up to our Annual AIDS Walk, who have pledged to fill any of these slots to help Bakersfields AIDS Project, Rickys Retreat, then we can possibly meet our goal ;) Bakersfields AIDS Project has been serving Kern County persons living with AIDS since 1993. We are an ALL Volunteer non-profit organization (no paid staff) dedicated to providing quality, compassionate housing and services to LOCAL persons living with AIDS. Programs include: Rickys Retreat our AIDS Hospice/Transitional Home Drop-in Friday Support Group Drop-in Friday Lunches Food Bank Hygiene Program Positively Speaking (Speakers Bureau) HIV/AIDS Education and Outreach Program Camp Jessie Lee (One-day FREE camp for children with AIDS and MORE! We also host events such as: Kern County AIDS Compassion Week National HIV Testing Day World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil World AIDS Day AIDS Quilt Display Workshops for plwas and or HIV providers Please let me know which of the following you may want to be: 1 of 50 for $100 1 of 25 for $250 1 of 25 for $500 If you are not able to accept to pledge at this time, but would like a pledge form, please private message me, Janessica Sanchez, or Phillip Castro so we can get you a pledge form ASAP and register you!
