**ALERT** I just received a phone call that started with an automated message asking me to press 9 to lower my interest rate on my visa card. I pressed 9 to see what it was about. They guy on the phone explained that I was randomly selected by Experian credit because of my on time payments to lower my rates. He then asked for my FULL CREDIT CARD # ... i said no because my visa card has NEVER asked for that info. He assured me that i was not speaking with a third party and once I gave the info they would access all of my info and it was just to verify. I still said NO. He got VERY upset with me! I asked him why he was yelling at me and he said he wasnt and that if I wouldnt give my card number my card interest would be raised to 39.9% or cancelled according to the new law that was passed. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The next guy said the exact same thing and told me I sounded educated and he assured me it was not a third party. I again said I would not give my card info because this company has never asked for it before. He then blew up at me and we got in a very heated conversation about it....he then told me to have have a nice F*@&ing day and hung up on me. I immediately called capital one and they assured me that was NOT them that called me and they reported it. Just a heads up! They did have my husbands name so in the beginning it did sound legit, but as soon as they asked for my full card number I knew something was up. Thought I would pass this along since it seems legit in the beginning...Im just glad i didnt give them any info!
