Out of social concern I need to let you know this. My friends and myself (bunch of lawyers and myself a law lecturer) have personally helped the family financially and have tried getting help from politicians to help them. And most importantly in getting a job for the father. He is basically using the children to make money. He refused to take up jobs by citing reason of health. He has a history of taking multiple MCs and issues at work place and terminated from work. He is the culprit behind the familys sufferance. We have visited their house and get to know the real situation. We paid for the childrens school needs. The father is money minded, and refuse to work. He plays with the childrens emotions to beg. The particular girl you interviewed has lied to us many many many times! Cant blame her, its her father who is behind all these. We have tried our best to help them but despite taking all the help he still let the kids to beg in the streets. 2 of their children are being educated by a lawyer, Mr. Pasupathy. They only have 2 more children (this gal and her brother) to feed and send to school. Many people are already helping, but they will say no help is given. We have investigated this issue. No matter how much money or help they get, the children will still be in the streets begging. The mother knows the danger but yet support her husband by saying he is helpless. He is just plain lazy! We in fact wanted to take the children to the police station and charge the father for child labor etc. But since the children were begging us not to do so, and the mother personally asked us not to do anything, we decided not to bother anymore. My only concern is that public may be misled and pity this family without knowing the true issue behind it. Despite all the help, the children will still be in the streets because of the father! Hence, my humble request is that please further investigate into this issue to avoid public getting trapped. Public may help and get disappointed in this matter, this will lead to them not wanting to help genuine cases after this. I hope you will take into consideration my concerns and post a word of caution to the public. Thank you
