ALHAMDULILLAH for a much more productive day. started with a meeting with UNHCR where the protection officer was quiet frustrated with the security measures that delays the response for Zamboanga (at least am not the only one who is ANXIOUS)! WHAT A RELIEF THIS IS. Then proceeded with an interview at the women & children protection unit of PNP ARMM which was very interesting with all the women police officers eagerly answering our queries. The head of the unit in the region was also very accommodating. The SIGNIFICANT HIGHLIGHT of the day was the FGD with the local communities at Talayan, Maguindanao. Winding it with a meeting with Nisa Ul Haqq. Shukran Atty. Alpha for coming & thanks again to a fellow CIPYML alumni for helping us out in facilitating this meeting. Shem: i owe you big time for this! Have to miss the meeting with Nonviolent Peaceforce though due to security measures that have to be undertaken by humanitarian workers like us. DUTY OF CARE in action. (am not so sure if i will feel good about this during this trying times.
