ALL BOSQUE COUNTY 4-Hers SAVE THE DATE! WE EXPECT EVERYONE TO ATTEND BRING FAMILY & NON-4-H FRIENDS One day 4-H is a day for all 4-H members, parents, leaders, other organizations, and any community volunteers to step out into their county and say “thank you” by giving back for more than 103 years of support to 4-H in Texas. All Bosque County 4-H Clubs (Valley Mills, Clifton, Cranfills Gap, Meridian, and Morgan) will join together this year. We are planning an exciting One Day 4-H in Valley Mills. We’ll be doing a beautification project around City Hall. The Valley Mills Mayor, Jerry Pierce, has agreed to assist us with the project. We will also be presenting a National 4-H Week Proclamation to Mayor Pierce and the City Council to declare and sign on this day. The plan is to do “no scape” landscaping in the flower bed areas surrounding City Hall with drought tolerant plants so that it will be low maintenance. A small rainwater harvest system will be installed to maintain the area, in order to save city water. Mayor Pierce has graciously donated the rainwater barrel needed for the harvesting system. We’ll be asking for monetary donations in the county to assist with materials needed for the project. Our nation will succeed or fail to the degree that all of us citizens and businesses alike are active participants in building strong, sustainable and enriching communities. —Arnold Hiatt We’d like to invite everyone in Bosque County to join us in this project, as we are hoping to improve Bosque County one step at a time. Each family is asked to sign up to participate so that we can get a head count to assist us in our planning. PLEASE SIGN UP ASAP! SIGN UP HERE! Also, t-shirts are available! T-shirts are only $3.80 each. Order your One Day 4-H t-shirt at the link below by September 25th. Place your t-shirt orders: texas4-h.tamu.edu/oneday
