ALL EYES ON A WEEK FROM NOW Good evening everybody, just a heads - TopicsExpress

ALL EYES ON A WEEK FROM NOW Good evening everybody, just a heads up that its looking more and more likely that a very strong and cold high pressure system will be building into the U.S. out of western Canada by mid to late next week, in response to an extremely powerful low pressure system in the Bering Sea that will force this ridge into the western U.S. The ridge in the west will allow for a trough and much colder air to work into the eastern U.S., and if the boundary between air masses (a/k/a cold front) pushes south and east enough towards the east coast, it could set up the potential for a snowstorm with accumulating snow and impacts for Western Massachusetts. This is a week away, its not set in stone, but the ingredients look like they are setting up to support the potential for a winter storm here several weeks before the Winter Solstice even arrives. I will keep an eye on this, and refine as we get closer next week. Storm or no storm, were stepping down into the next phase of the upcoming cold season by next Friday, with highs likely only in the 30s.
