ALL INDIANS MUST SPEND 30 SEC TO READ HER STORY!! INSPIRING TRUE STORY ( WORTH READING ) Rani Lakshmibai was born in the year 1928. She learned horseback riding, sword fighting, and fencing at a young age. She was married to the Maharaja of Jhansi, Raja Ghangadhar Rao. In 1851, the Rani had a son. he unfortunately died when he was barely four months old. In the year 1853, Gangadhar Rao fell sick and became very weak. So, the couple decided to adopt a child. They named him Damodar Rao. The British werent satisfied with the idea that Damodar was the legal heir to the throne. The governor of India said that Jhansi would be broken down since Ghangadhar had left no heir to the throne. This misfortune of Jhansi was used by the Britishers to expand there Empire. In March 1854 British ruler announced 60,000 ( Sixty Thousand) annual pension for Rani and also ordered to leave the Jhansi fort. and when Rani did not surrender,On March 1858,They attacked the Innocent civilians,looted Temples and raped young girls. Because of that, a war broke out between the citizens of Jhansi and the British. This was the war of first war of independence. Rani was determined and not ready to give up Jhansi. She was a symbol of patriotism and self respect. Britishers were making every effort to destroy the freedom of country whereas Rani was determined to get rid of Britishers. Rani did not surrender and continued to valiantly fight against the British. The battle continued for two weeks. In the Jhansi army women were also carrying ammunition and were supplying food to the soldiers. Rani Lakshmi Bai was very active. She herself was inspecting the defense of the city. During the battle, Rani dressed as a man, had her little baby strapped to her back, she held the horse reins in her mouth, and In the fierce fighting she was using the sword with both her hands. Unfortunately, However on the second day of fighting, the great heroine of the first struggle for India freedom, at the age of 23 years, lost her life. That unfortunate day was 18th June of 1858. Her life is a thrilling story of womanliness, courage, adventure, deathless patriotism and martyrdom. In her tender body there was a lions spirit. Who says that the Rani is dead ? She is still alive in the Indian Hearts , She will never die. She is my ideal. and today GOVERNMENT celebrates INDIRA GANDHIS as a pride !! and i ask How many INDIANS WILL CELEBRATE Rani Lakshmibais BIRTHDAY with PRIDE.
