ALL SCHOOL REUNION The reunion may not have had the attendance that we all wanted or expected, but what it lacked in quantity was diminished only by quality. We won the football game for starters. It is always a good idea to pick a weak opponent for Homecoming. The Golden Wolf Band has grown by leaps and bounds. Not too sure about the orange flags, but they moved them well. I missed not having the spaghetti supper before the game, but maybe next time they can work that in. The tours of the La Rita Theater and the Airport/Cafe were fun. The coconut pie I had was really good. It is a shame that the cheese factory doesnt provide tours. I want to thank the Board of Directors for their efforts. I am on our Homeowners Association Board and I know what it takes to make things happen and the pay is only the good feeling that you get occasionally. The present Board has been doing this for a long time and needs some relief from preferably the younger generation. The only way to get younger people involved is to let them know how much fun we had, not that the wheels are about to fall off. They wont be interested in coming to pick up the pieces. I do have some suggestions. Keep in mind these are only my opinions. Im not qualified to give yours. 1. Get rid of the dinner. It wasnt worth what we paid for it. The restaurants in town will benefit. 2. Get each class to provide a representative to be on the Board to get and receive information. They wouldnt need to live in Dalhart. 3. The city could reduce the charge for the building, but in all fairness if $1,000 is what we paid, that really isnt bad to set up, air condition, take down and cleanup after the event. Would you want to be responsible for that for that amount of money? 4. Get with the Motel/Restaurant Association to see if they will chip in. 5. Provide accurate and up to date information. What happened to the Pep Rally that was supposed to happen? 6. If you are going to give awards, plan ahead to determine the rules. Dont make them up on Saturday night. 7. Keep a muzzle on hand if Bill Crawford even looks like he is going to tell a joke. LOL Actually Bill, that was pretty funny. 8. Why werent more of the Board Members present? If you cant get the Board Members to show up, how can you expect the membership to show? Obviously I am in favor of keeping the All School Reunion every five years.
