ALL adoptions are wonderful, but some are just the most incredible experience!! This sweet, middle aged, 100+ pound pittie girl has been with Underdogs for well over a YEAR !!! Because there are SO many pits in every shelter, older ones are often overlooked. And because I am super extra picky about approvong homes for dogs like her, several applicants were turned down. Still, I was shocked that she was here so long, especially considering this particular pittie happens to be one of the BEST dogs we have ever had! Ever! Of the 1000s of dogs that have passed thru here! Thats says a lot about her! Each and every person who fostered her wanted to keep her but various reasons prevented it...divorce, landlord, insurance, too many pets, finances, etc. But as always, it was all for a reason and her meant to be people had just not found her yet. Until now!! This amazing girl now has a forever home! Her calm, quiet, soothing spirit is just what her new dad (who has PTSD), mom and middle aged fur brother were looking for. It melted my heart to see how immediately connected they all were. Just a feeling of pure joy! We will truly miss you Gira, aka Nugget, aka Fatty Patty, aka Piglet, aka Hippo, aka Sweetie Pie, etc. We love every ounce of you!
