The US government bans all American flights to Israel. European countries followed suit. Right, now only 7 airlines operate at Ben Gurion, including Israels own El Al. What are the impacts on Israel of Hamas rocket reaching Ben Gurion and flight suspension from US and Europe? HUGE! (1) Economic impacts are huge if suspension of flights continues further. It affects Israels tourism industry. Ben Gurion handles 90% of arrivals to Israel. With just few flights coming to Israel, It means less people will come to Israel, so less tourist money for Israel. (2) Israel already losing US$200 million from the 24-hour flight suspension. US extends suspension to second day, Europe follows suit, (3) It affects future tourist arrivals. Already, 30% of next month reservations to visit Israel has been canceled. Nobody wants to come to Israel, its considered a war zone. So, less future income from tourism. (4) It is disrupting Israelis way of life. Many Israelis are stranded at airports unable to leave Israel or return to Israel.Getting stranded is something Israelis are not used to but something Gazans are used to. (5) What if another rocket reaches Ben Gurion?
