~~~~~ ALMA ~~~~~ (Manhattan A1021011) P AT NYCACC THROUGH NO FAULT OF HER OWN, THIS KITTIE LOVING GIRL IS IN DESPERATE NEED. When a police car pulls up to the shelter it usually means they are bringing in an animal found as a stray, or abandoned, or any number of reasons. A few days ago they pulled up and I walked over to see who they had in the crate. Imagine my surprise when I saw a gorgeous brindle pocket pittie and a tiny black kitten! The police told me the owner lost his home, and they found the kitten and Alma snuggled up sleeping together. Alma was wagging her tail in the crate, sometimes hitting kittie, and it was adorable to see the two of them together. Alma is a delight!! Well behaved, she sits when asked to, takes treats gently, seems to be housetrained, loves playing ball but her favorite thing was laying across my lap with the ball in her mouth! Shes beautifully groomed, has gorgeous luminous eyes which make soft eye contact, poses for pictures like a model, and has totally appropriate loving energy. Alma participates in play dates, enjoying her time with other dogs, making appropriate and respectful corrections if needed. She demonstrated some possible resource guarding in her behavior assessment so may be best in a home without young children. Shes an awesome dog, who had a kitten as a bestie before she joined us. Wont you be her bestie now? Alma can be reserved direct online by a genuine adopter who can personally get to the shelter by 6 p.m. Sunday to collect her, just no small children in the home due to her behavior rating.
