ALRIGHT! Watched episode one of Tokyo Ghoul Root A. The story - TopicsExpress

ALRIGHT! Watched episode one of Tokyo Ghoul Root A. The story branches off a LOT faster than I thought it would. Basically, it branches off right when Kaneki finishes fighting Ayato, but before he gets to break half of the bones in his body one by one. (Which I was a little sad about.) BUT. It did follow the manga somewhat for reasons I cant really say due to spoilers... by the end of the episode, though. My God is it completely different. Kaneki doesnt form his own group with Shu and the others, with the goal that he had in mind in the manga. (Not saying anymore than that for the same reasons.) Instead... well, youll have to see for yourself. OVERALL though, Im actually REALLY happy with how it went down. Its written by Sui Ishida, the original author of the manga, so Im expecting really great things. The season already feels so much different than the first. It had the feeling that I expected from Tokyo Ghoul when I read it... something melancholic and sad... full of action and gore yet, tragic and beautiful. Fantastic soundtrack as well. I cant wait for more. Im really, really excited. As a manga reader, Im happy with how its going so far. If youve read the manga and loved it, I suggest trying season 2 of the anime. It follows a completely different story of Kaneki while still being somewhat canon since the author wrote it himself. Oh, and thoughts on the opening. Its getting a ton of hate. And I mean a TON of hate. Why? Well, compared to Unravel by TK, its EXTREMELY underwhelming and people consider the animation for it to be lazy. I, on the other hand, dont mind it. Similarly to season 1s opening, its more... artistic, yet the song is mainly just piano and singing. I honestly think it fits very well with Tokyo Ghouls overall theme and story... And if you havent seen it yet, well, Ill post it here and you can see for yourself. Its definitely not as good as Unravel but, its good in its own way and Im sure itll grow on everyone. I like it, though. The ED is great, and also fits the show well. https://youtube/watch?v=txj_k5NHZF0
