ALS - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis also known as Lou Gehrigs disease is one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases where in the muscles of ones body weaken progressively leading to problems in speaking, eating, breathing or doing anything by free will. In my imagination its a really horrible idea of life, like paralysis, but atleast you do not feel the paralized part but here you feel all the pain all the discomfort but still cannot move because your muscles are that weak. Having to live a life of utter helpless and later being put on life support is what people suffering from ALS go through. This ice bucket challenge has so far raised more than 40million dollars (which still isnt enough in the long run) and I hope people keep spreading this. Its not just the fun part with the ice bucket but I would like the people who Ive nominated ( Lepakshi, rahul gupta bharat siddhu, sri) to know why you are doing it. Not because its a trend but because it actually is spreading awareness and raising funds. The money raised is not treating the disease but atleast its funding proper research on effective treatments.
