ALS- Lou Garretts Disease My name is Wendy Davis. I have been living in the community of Highland City, Florida for almost 43 years. Recently I was diagnosed with ALS. There is no cure for this disease. Research is limited and eventually u die from it. I am only writing because I need your help to raise money for my needs. I have been in and out of hospitals, went to Shands hospital for opinions and doctors after doctors since 2010. They all agreed the same. My house is in no way accessible for me to move around in. I am now on a ventilator and have no way to communicate with people except to lip read or write. I would like to have funraisers to fix my home. My daughters room, bathroom floor and my mothers room. There are things that just need to get fixed before I have no home. Recently our oak tree fell barely missing my daughters room. The same day my cousin died in his sleep. Its just been a really bad time. I have so many people helping already like my nurse, social worker, nurse practioner, speech therapist, occupational therapist, mulberry pharmacy for my medication, respiratory therapist. I cant forget my family and friends support. My husband had to quit his job and learn to take care of me. I wanted to be with my family not in a facility. They are my bestfriends. But we just need a little help making our home safe and accessible. Eventually I would like to go places but with no handicap van thats a problem. Thank you Davis family.
