ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrigs Disease is a progressive - TopicsExpress

ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrigs Disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that essentially degenerates the motor neurons in a persons body. This leads to atrophy and death of the muscles. The result of this disease can lead to the person being paralyzed and is usually fatal. As of now, there is no known cure, but there are people conducting research for it. I was nominated by Taylor Graff to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for ALS. I now nominate Anthony Pruni, Chuy Lopez, Father-Matt Russick, and Erich Keitz for the challenge. You have 24 hours to complete the challenge, and if you do not complete the challenge, you are supposed to donate $100 to ALS research at either alsa.org or petefrates. Pete Frates was a collegiate baseball player that is now suffering from ALS. Donations to his website go towards medical expenses as well as research for the cure. I urge everyone to donate to one of these sites. Even $5 can go a long way if everyone pitches in some.
