AMEN TO THIS!!! I am a 1959 MODEL and damn proud of it!!! Kids today do not know what they missed and what we HAD as kids while growing up!!! We also were taught RESPECT and how to talk to our elders!! We KNEW if we acted up or got in trouble at school that our butts were going to be BUSTED BIG TIME by mom or dad or BOTH when they got home!! We carried pocket knives to school and the principal usually had to coolest and best knife because he showed it to us and wanted to see ours. He told us how to sharpen one better so when we used ours we did not have to push as hard to cut something and not cut ourselves. Neighbors would fuss at us or bust our butts when we needed it if mom or dad were not around and that was ok with our parents because when it needed to be done...it needed to be done right THEN!!! Our teachers, parents and elders talked to us and TAUGHT us things about life, how to work and the difference between RIGHT & WRONG!!! We did not think about putting a NOSE RING in our nose or gauges (BIG HOLES) in our ears or studs in our eyebrows. That was something we would see in “National Geographic”!!
