AMOS 4:4-5. It is easy to find a substitutes for a genuine relationship with God. One tempting substitute is religious activity. If we go to church regularly, perhaps even sing in the choir, WONT THAT BE ENOUGH? God required the Israelites to give sacrifices and tithes, BUT BE DEMANDED EVEN MORE. An offering given because the giver is already committed to God pleases God. But if the offering is given in place of true commitment, THEN GOD REGARDS EVEN THE OFFERING AS A SIN. {hint, hint} OUR HEARTFELT DEVOTION IS WHAT GOD REALLY WANTS.
