AMOSUN CHARGES NEW PERM SECS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE REBUILDING MISSION Newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the Ogun State Civil Service have been called upon to come up with useful ideas that could enhance the state’s mission to rebuild. The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun made the call today in Abeokuta while declaring open a one- day value based and leadership management workshop organised for them, urging that they should not break the chain of leadership, but strive to leave a lasting legacy in driving the system they have been appointed to serve. “Since you occupy a pre-eminent position in the scheme of things, the visionary in your outlook, keep the system going, don’t drop the ball and I want to add, don’t break the chain. For you not to break the chain, you must be up and doing in your various beats and be good examples that other workers can emulate” Amosun admonished. Reminding them that the State occupies a pride of place among its peers which would not have been possible without the effort of the civil service, Governor Amosun urged that they should rise up to the challenge of putting the service on the right track and do things right at all times. Earlier in her welcome address, the State Head of Service, Mrs. Modupe Adekunle said the efficiency and effectiveness of any administration depended largely on how effectively the workforce displayed competence in the fulfillment of set objectives, saying the workshop for the top echelon of the civil service is expected to enhance their service delivery. She added that for them to perform optimally as the Chief Executive officers in their various agencies, seasoned administrators both within and without the service had been chosen to handle various topics, advising that they should assimilate and acquire the required administrative skills to get the desired results. Mrs. Adekunle promised that the civil service would remain loyal, committed, dedicated, proactive and ensure the successful implementation of all the people-oriented programmes as embedded in the 5-cardinal programme of government.
