AN ALTERNATIVE STORY: THE FAKARWEE. After the fleeing Israelites crossed the Red Sea and the Egyptians were wiped out during their pursuit, it took Moses and his compatriots 40years of circling the desert in search of the Promised Land. In that desolate desert environment there was no evidence of vegetation. So to see beyond the horizon and find out where they were, he had to climb on the shoulders of his tallest warrior. Looking around and finding no landmarks to peg their location, Moses shouted in despair, Oy, Shlomo, where are we? Where the Fakarwee? Weary from their endless wandering, the multitude thought Moses called them the Fakarwee.
