AN CHRISTMAS APPEAL FROM ME: Christmas is approaching fast and we are thinking about gifts, chrissy dinner with family and fun times watching our children open presents. Unfortunately, many families are doing it tough financially and simply cant provide as much as we can. So I am pleading to Judo Clubs to collect simple household items or food and take it to Anglicare. If coaches asked every Judoka to bring one item each to put in a box - you could make a huge difference to families doing it tough. For people who like to donate goods, we appreciate non-perishable foods like rice, pasta, tinned foods, tea, coffee, cereals and long-life milk. Its great to have Christmas treats including lollies, mince pies and puddings. Toiletries and hygiene products like sunblock, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, combs and nappies are always in demand. Unwrapped new gifts for children allow each child to receive something new on Christmas morning. Australia is a great place - and helping your community is a important value for our kids to learn. We have less than 4 weeks left till Christmas! Donations can be dropped into any Anglicare site, or alternatively you may choose the Salvation Army. Thankyou.
