AN IDEAL HOME Genesis 2:18: 18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him. Definition of key words: I. To be ideal is to be perfect or most suitable. II. Home: is where one lives or belongs.It is also a place where you can be traced to and found when looking for you. For the purpose of this study,We defined an ideal home as most suitable home for man. INTRODUCTION Paramount among the very important issues to any man is fulfillment in life.Home as the base or the natural habitat of man is the most influencing factor that determines the parameter of fulfillment in a man’s life.Hence, an ideal home, that is a suitable home becomes an essential thing to pursue for any man or woman who desires fulfillment in life,destiny and eternity. Text:Gen .2:18,NIV. The lord God said,”It is not good for a man to be alone,I will make an helper suitable for him” .Gen.2:18 ,NIV. FOUNDATION FOR AN IDEAL HOME I. God – the builder and maker of all things [Gen.2:18,Heb.3:4] II. Suitable spouse:An ideal home is a product of suitable couple.Gen. 2:18. III. Determination:This is because it takes efforts to build an excellent home.’How sad‘ that we spend so many years training for career and so little time preparing for marriage/home’Mrs Hagee. IV. Vision-This is the fore sight based on insight with the benefit of hind sight.Prov.29:18.Where there is no vision people perish. WHY DO WE NEED AN IDEAL HOME • Because that is the only enabling environment for man’s essence. • Because it is only from such that godly children can be raised.Malachi 2:5 • Because it is only ideal homes that make healthychurch. • Because ideal home is the desire of God while instituting home. • Because an ideal home enhances its members making heaven at last .Titus 2:11-13 Because an ideal home offers peace to his members PRINCIPLES OF AN IDEAL HOME I. Godliness: An ideal home is the representative of God’s kingdom on earth. II. The word of God (BIBLE) is the final authority in such home. III. Marital vows are respected and kept. Matt19:4-6 IV. Marital roles and duties are embraced. Eph 5:21-25.Submission and love are mandates and not suggestions. V. Serving God and his kingdom is a must in such home. Exo.23:25 VI. There is trust among the members and in God VII. They communicate effectively VIII. The speak truth with one another in love. Eph 4.15 IX. There is unity in all their endeavours including faith and goals.Amos.3:3 X. The spend time together and With God.i.e Fellowship or family alter. Psalm 122:1-2 XI. There is romance.They say nice things about each other,tell each other how much they love each other,touch and surprise each other pleasantly.Solomon 8:6-7. XII. There is loyalty in such home. CONCLUSION There is no substitute of an ideal home for any man that will live a peaceable and fulfilling life. Therefore, it worths more than all the efforts it takes to build it. PRAYERS Father,give me grace to build an ideal home. Father, bless my home. Father,let your presence fill my home. Father, let me and my family make it to heaven our eternal home.
