ANC SADDENED BY REPORTS THAT COMRADES LOST THEIR LIVES OVER THE WEEKEND The African National Congress has been saddened to receive reports that two of our comrades lost their lives over the weekend while en route to the 102nd Anniversary Celebrations and Elections Manifesto launch held in Mbombela, Mpumalanga. Comrade Mahambule Greatwell Mngomezulu from Balfour was run over by a vehicle as he alighted from one of the busses that transported our supporters to the stadium. He and another person, who was subsequently discharged, were treated at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela where Comrade Mahambule succumbed to his injuries. Comrade Khethiwe Joyce Mdluli from Hazyview complained of a headache and collapsed while collecting food in White River. She was rushed to Themba Hospital where she later died. Structures of the ANC in the Mpumalanga Province have been in contact with the families and will be working with them during this difficult time. The African National Congress sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Comrade Mahambule Mngomezulu and Comrade Khethiwe Mdluli. The organisation is much poorer for having lost loyal, disciplined and activist comrades. It is our hope that the knowledge of a loss shared by all of us would make the burden of grief that has engulfed these families and communities that much lighter to bear.
