ANCESTRY.COM SEARCH Can anyone tell me if Ancestry can be searched with a passenger name AND a ship name, and if so, how? Or can a ships manifest for a given arrival date be browsed page by page on Ancestry? I have found numerous passenger manifests on ellisisland.org that show the complete image and give the ship name. But then, when searching for the same person, arrival date, etc. on Ancestry, the name is not returned (probably due to indexing errors). I know the name, date, and ship, but cant find the manifest on Ancestry. Sometimes this can be worked around by finding a different passenger on the same voyage from the ellisisland.org site, and then searching for that name on Ancestry, but often all the names on a manifest are in the same difficult handwriting, and none of them can be found on Ancestry. Whenever I do find the record on Ancestry, I correct the errors, but its very frustrating to know the name, immigration date, and ship, but not be able to find it on Ancestry. Any suggestions?
