AND THAT IS MY GOD: OUR PEACE: Text: Judges 6:24 Memory Verse: So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it The LORD is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites (Judges 6:24) Devotional Thought: Peace is not an absence of war, it is state of mind. Devotion Message: Good Morning and thank God for letting us see yet another beautiful day. It is peculiar of people no matter their race to demand for Peace. They want a rest of mind and hence they think that all things being equall man should naturally have peace but little did we know that peace was part of the package lost at Eden. So in ignorance, in our state of lack of that peace of mind we try to fight against those thing we felt are denying us peace but even as they are catered for, the insecurity still persists. The truth is that there is always this fear of the unknown. This is the type of Peace the world has to give. Jesus says in John 14:27 that Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. You see Peace is God and just being in Him alone makes you feel secured even when circumstances is to the contrary because you know all things are working in your best interest. The fruit of the Spirit is Peace also (Galatians 5:22). Have you notice that when you enter any deliberate sin, it would be as if Peace just dessert you and you just begin to nurse some fear for no obvious reason? This shows that God being Peace is real and practical. God wants you to rest your mind from all your cares because they are catered for already. I know there might be situations that do scare but yet one of the distinguishing trait of a Spirit filled beleiver is Peace. One thing is sure and that is the seed of Peace is dropped in every believer as soon as they accept Christ for Jesus said He gave it already, He did not say my Peace i will give you but He said My Peace I leave with you or I give to you but how we develop it is another thing left for each believer to decide within himself. God has made a Covenant of Peace with us even in the face of turmoil and Jehovah Shalom has this in quantum for His name is Peace. Jesus said you will be in God and God in you and that also mean you will be in Peace and Peace in you. I guess that is interesting? Begin to worship His Holy name for that. God bless you today.
