. . . . AND THE REST OF THE STORY IS. . . .Four, yes, four, very excited and lucky kids went to rescue today!! (Sat, 11/8/2014). It was an exciting and busy day! Todays crew included: Lakota, a beautiful hound mix whose body condition indicates a very rough life . . . . . until today. Today, her life turned around! (We missed getting a picture of her before she loaded on transport. The picture with this post was taken on her photo shoot day.) TK, an adorable little heeler mix whose main goal was to try to jump onto transport, but found he was not tall enough! Today, TK got a second chance in life. Even though his little legs were not long enough to allow him to jump in the vehicle, he did stop long enough to get a brand new collar of his very own! Ellie, a sweet pittie mix who captured the hearts of many who have cared for her, walked her, and prayed for her. Today, prayers were answered and her life changed. In foster care, she will learn what she needs to know in order to be a great family member. A little lacking in social skills, but with a willingness to learn, she was happy to load on transport, and did several spins in her crate, unable to believe she was finally going to rescue! And then. . . .the big boy! Luke, a mastiff/lab mix, learned he was going to rescue. This is the one who brought tears to eyes. Luke has an as yet unknown medical issue with his hindquarters. Today, his life was saved. He knew he was safe and would receive the care he needs. Before he loaded, he enjoyed a few treats, then, he happily went to the transport vehicle. It took three ladies to lift big Luke on board, but the smiles when he was finally loaded were worth it!! Thank you to Black Dog Animal Rescue for accepting these four fabulous furkids into rescue, thank you to the foster families who have opened their hearts and homes, and who also awaited the kids arrival, thank you to Bailey, Ashley, and Gwen for driving, and thank you to Andrea, Kellie and Katy for helping get everyone loaded! As transport began to pull out of the parking lot, they stopped, and waved goodbye. We couldnt help but notice the big smiles they all had! AND THEN. . . . .THEY WERE OFF!!! RESCUE DOGS, AND THOSE WHO RESCUE THEM, ROCK!!!
