AND THE WINNER IS... The winner of the 2014 Smith Prize will be announced tomorrow. In the meantime, there is breaking news for the 2013 winner. Martyna Majoks new play, Ironbound, commissioned by the Smith Prize, will be showcased this summer at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. Steppenwolf is legendary for launching careers of well-known actors (Gary Sinise, John Malkovich, Joan Allen, among others). Martynas play is part of this summers First Look series, which showcases plays and playwrights that we think will have significant impact on American theater for years to come. Ironbound will be workshopped and further developed, and staged July 28.
