ANNOUNCEMENT….. ANNOUNCEMENT….. ANNOUNCEMENT….. Tonight’s post is an extra special one, as this evening Fitness Formation has launched our world record attempt to take the largest team ever assembled to an obstacle race. On April 4th 2015, we will stand on the start line at Born Survivor, Lowther Castle, Cumbria with a team of 1000 people aiming to raise £100,000. But for who, and what is the reason for doing so? Our world record bid is inspired by St Johns Hospice Lancaster #saveourhospice campaign. For the last 18 months, my brother and Fitness Formation have been working with the hospice, as our chosen charity, to help raise funds to secure the future of this amazing charity for generations to come. I recently had the pleasure of taking a tour around the facility, and was inspired by the dedication, support, and care that people who use the services of the hospice receive. The staff, many of whom work as volunteers, provide round the clock assistance to people suffering from illness, sadly, some of whom may not survive to see this campaign reach it’s conclusion in Aprill next year. I was utterly taken aback by the place, and left speechless by the cheerfulness, selflessness, and positive nature of those involved with the hospice. I, for one, fully believe that anything is possible, and what we are embarking on is a monumental task. We have created a monster. But I defy anyone who has seen, used, or heard of the hospice not to be driven to make this a reality. But to make this happen, we need the support of each, and everyone of YOU. If you have not yet set yourself a goal for the coming year, then join the team. Every penny raised ensures that this wonderful, community charity survives for generations to come. Four different organisations have made this a reality. We stand side by side in partnership with The Lancaster Guardian (and surrounding newspapers), St. John’s Hospice, and Born Survivor, all which are headed up by local people supporting a very worthy, local cause. Over the coming months you will be seeing, hearing, and listening to plenty more on the record breaking team including vlogs, blogs, training, motivation, and much, much more. This is not about us. This is not about you. This is about doing something that will affect many people, and many families, maybe even your own in the past, or in the future. WE CAN DO THIS. WE WILL DO THIS. TOGETHER.
