ANNOUNCEMENT: DAlemberte To Be Honored, Author Gilbert King to Speak at Supreme Court Historical Society Dinner At its January Annual Dinner, the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society will honor prominent Florida attorney Talbot “Sandy” D’Alemberte, and guests will be treated to a talk by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Gilbert King about his book on a civil rights case arising in Florida. Hank Coxe, a past president of The Florida Bar, will be master of ceremonies for the Jan. 29 event, which is being held at the University Center Club and is open to the public. Highlights of the 2015 Annual Dinner include: ** Presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to D’Alemberte. ** Unveiling the official portraits of four current Florida Supreme Court justices commissioned by the Historical Society. ** Pulitzer Prize-winning author Gilbert King talking about his book Devil in the Grove: Thurgood Marshall, the Groveland Boys, and the Dawn of a New America.” ** Chief Justice Jorge Labarga providing an update on the state of the court.
