ANNOUNCEMENTS 10-29-13 Seniors: Balfour will be here Friday Nov. 1st during all lunches to take your graduation package orders. All you need to have is an $80.00 deposit. You can go to Balfour to view your official school invitation. NHS members, there are 2 sign in sheets for 2 different projects in Mrs. York’s room stop by any time after 5th period, if you want to sign up The Lady Necks Varsity Volleyball has ended district with a 7-3 record and tied for second. They will play a district seeding playoff game against Stafford tonight beginning at 7pm at Sweeny HS. Come out and support your Lady Neck Volleyball team. The Roughneck football team will be taking on La Marque this Friday in our last district home game of the year. We will be having a pep rally Friday to support our Roughnecks. Help us “annihilate” the cougars by wearing your favorite super-hero gear! Let’s go Necks! Listen up CHS! Come check out Bible Study on Wednesday mornings at 7:00am. Come hang out in a completely non-judgmental environment and hear the good news! Picture re-takes are scheduled for November 5th. The only students eligible for re-takes are underclassmen that were absent and seniors. NOVEMBER 5th is the day! Is there a teacher or staff member you’d love to see take a pie to the face? Well guess what? You may get that chance! Ms. Ray, Mrs. Earhart, Mr. Wortman, Mrs. Spear, and Mrs. Magee are the possible recipients. You can vote for your choice in the cafeteria during lunches this week! Your monetary contributions to your choice’s jar will be your vote! Empty your change or dollar bills for the staff member you’d LOVE to see take a pie to the face! FCCLA will have a meeting today, Oct. 29th at 3:00 in Mrs. Kresta’s room. Please make plans to be there. Attention All Sophomores: If you are looking for leadership opportunities and like meeting new people, the HOBY Youth Leadership conference is for you. Meet state leaders and participate in hands-on activities. For more information, come by the guidance office. The deadline to submit applications is Nov 22nd. Any girl interested in playing soccer this spring there will be a girl’s soccer meeting today, October 29th at 3 pm in Coach Harrington’s room C-207. If you cannot make the meeting you need to contact Mr. Harrington. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s Commit for Life Creative Scholarship is now available. Your life saving ideas could help you win money for college! 20 $1,000 Scholarships will be awarded. To complete a scholarship application you just need to go to giveblood.org/scholarship or come by the guidance office for more information. Dual Credit College Students: The last day to withdraw from a college class with a grade of “W” is Nov. 1, 2013. DUAL CREDT STUDENTS: Registration starts on November 3, 2013, so see Mr. Holcombe as soon as possible.
