ANNUAL BIRTHDAY MESSAGE Through a series of misunderstandings and bad decisions, I turn 80 today! I ask you... But it strikes me that , just by dint of having lasted so long, and having been beating the REVOLUTION IN AGING DRUM so hard, that I am entitled - yea... obliged - to issue this, the first of my short, Birthday Message. Just like the Queen of England. Here you go. I REJOICE at how many many thousands have joined the Revolution In Aging that is my great cause, for the rest of my life. But I DESPAIR that there are not more. If I did my job better - and I am hard at it, believe me - everyone would be working out six days a week, foreswearing crap and being in touch. So (surprise) heres my message: I have lived a lot of my Third Act already. I have done a fairly good job of following Harrys Rules and Jens (both will be at the huge, black tie dinner in New York on Thursday), and I KNOW the consequences. THIS STUFF WORKS! And it really is one of the two or three most important things in all our lives. I am a weak vessel - eat a little too much, have the occasional martini - but my life is radically better than that of so many of my pals, who dont do this stuff. The exercise and whatnot is a tiny price for the massive difference in quality of life... at 80 and 50 and 30. So... do it yourself... spread the word passionately to those you care about.
