***ANOTHER FREE TNR CLINIC IS A HUGE SUCCESS!*** We spayed and neutered 62 cats at yesterdays Free TNR clinic!!! The following veterinarians volunteered their time - Dr. Saver, Dr. Cummins, Dr. Bayha, Dr. Miller, Dr. Harris & Dr. Juliano. We had several vet techs, cat volunteers and 10 wonderful students from the veterinary science class at BOCES-who joined us to both learn and help out. Many of these students will be future vet techs and are eager to help us in the future. Many of the cats brought to this clinic were trapped by our volunteers. They are trapping a few different colonies trying to stabilize the colony so that the Spring doesnt bring about the birth of so many unwanted kittens. The rest of the cats were brought in by public trappers-people who are caring about whats really happening out there and want to make a difference before its too late. We even had a cat brought in by a public person that had a large hernia that one of the veterinarians repaired. We had some bittersweet moments of a few very young kittens being rescued, so even though we are happy they were rescued-it is frustrating that there are still so many out there. What keeps us all going is that we are making a difference to the ones we are saving. Last Hope Inc. is a volunteer run, 501c3 organization, attempting to reduce the tremendous cat and dog overpopulation problem on Long Island, encourage responsible and affordable pet ownership and transform the public image of the typical pound animal. Please help us continue to offer these programs with any donation possible at goo.gl/G5UbYA. If there is a specific cat, dog or program you would like to fund please add that in the comment section. Also, you can donate to Last Hope by mail to PO Box 7025, Wantagh, NY 11793. Your donation means a great deal to our organization, but it means even more to the animals that depend on us for survival. Whether it is the hundreds of tiny kittens we rescue from dire situations, or the many cats and dogs that come into our program in need of major medical attention, without your donations we can survive. Thank you for helping us help them.
