ANYONE WHO DEFINES SUNNAH TO YOU AS THAT SUNNAH IS SOMETHING THAT - TopicsExpress

ANYONE WHO DEFINES SUNNAH TO YOU AS THAT SUNNAH IS SOMETHING THAT IF YOU DO IT YOU SHALL BE REWARDED AND IF YOU DO NOT DO IT YOU ARE NOT TO BE PUNISHED HAS INDEED LIED TO YOU. All perfect adorations and praise be to Allaah; We beseech His Most blessed honour and peace upon the Most Blessed of all mankind; Muhammad(sollallaahu alayhi wasallam). Many of muslims today have been misled by one half baked knowledgeable individual or non-knowledgeable person but strongheadedly attributes knowledge to themselves. The major problem is majority ot muslims dont know who is a scholar and who is not? Some muslims even take u as a scholar if u are able to speak little arabic. I remembered growing up that everyone who prays regularly is termed the name alfa even if he does actions that negate his attestion to eemaan. Sunnah: Al-Imaam Abuu Abdillaah Ahmad bn Hanbal As-shaybaani said: The sunnah itself are revelations which also contains the understandings that the Prophet got from the Quran which he then put into statements and actions. He said this definition is in accordance to the hadeeth of aaisha reported by Imaam Muslim where aaisha said when she was asked regarding the character of the Prophet; and she said: Kaano Khuluquhu Al-Quran. His character was in conjuction with Allaahs revealed verses(the Quran). Scholars of hadeeth explained that: This hadeeth of Aaisha explained to us that: Any permission found ib the Quran shall be found being acted upon by the Prophet and any prohibition found in the Quran shall never be found in the Prophet. He(rahimahullaah) said this definition is also in line with the hadeeth reported by Imaam Muslim; Abuh Daaud and others where the Prophet said: I have been given the Quran and something like the Quran(the sunnah). This was why Al-Imaam Barbahaaree(rahimahullaah) said in his book sharh sunnah that: Al-Islaam is Sunnah and the Sunnah is Al-Islaam; None can stand alone except with the other. Meanwhile; Allaah says in suuratul Hashr that: And whatsoever the Prophet gives to you(in his order); take it from him(i.e obey him); and whatsoever he forbids for you; take heed and abandone it. Scholars of tafseer like Al-haafidh bn Katheer(rahimahullaah) explained that this verse is also in line with the hadeeth of Abuu Hurayrah reported by Imaam Bukhaari that the Prophet said: And whatsoever I prohibit you from; Stay totally away from it; And whatsoever I command you upon; do it to the beat of your ability. Al-Imaam Ibn Yaahya Al-Hajuuree(rahimahullaah) explained in his book Al-Mobaadiul mufeeda that: The Sunnah is from one of the jurisdiction from where a muslim must take his/her Islaam from; this why it is recommended for a muslim that: He/she must take his/her understanding of Islaam from the Quran(by studying tafseer) and the sunnah upon the understanding and actions of the pious predecessors. The companions always hurried towards learning and acting upon what the Prophet did and said. They understood(rodiyallaahu anhum) that being different from the disbelievers in acts of worship; acts of living; dressing; eating; walking; speaking were obligatory upon a muslim to be different from the kuffaar. Meanwhile; the Prophet(sollallaahu alayhi wasallam) had warned upon holding firm to his sunnah as this is indeed how you would understand the Quran perfectly. This is one major reason why scholara do say that: the sunnah explains the Quran and it opens our heart to the guidance contained in the Quran. In suuratu Nnajm; Allaah started by swearing to make us understand the greatness and importance of the statements He desires to utter. So amongst this verses; Allaah says: And He(Muhammad) does not speak from his awaa(desires). Except from what is revealed to him. Scholars of tafseer made us understanding from their extensive explanation of these two verses that: Allaah establishes in our heart with these two verses by swearing upon them that indeed you wont see the Prophet I(Allaah) sent to you do or say; prohibit or permit anything except that I myself had guided him to such. Now we see how much Allaah takes of importance the teachings of His Prophet. Indeed in suuratu Muhammad; Allaah says: Oh You who have truly believed! Obey Allaah and Obey the Prophet and do not void you deeds(i.e do not render you deeds invalid by your own selves through disobeying fundamental rules) So; we should understand as muslims that following and acting in accordance to authentic narrations regarding the Prophet is very important and its indeed a necessity. So that definition of sunnah contains nothing but lies upon lies. And Allaah is granter of success.
