APC Accuses Police, PDP Of Plot To Arrest Members Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) said it has uncovered plans by men of the state police command to start arresting some leaders of the party on the allegation that they were behind the current political crisis in the state. The party in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, said the alleged unholy alliance between the police and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was designed to shift the blame on some APC leaders. According to Olatubosun, APC was aware of the clandestine meeting held between some police officers and some PDP goons on the 28th September, 2014 at Spotless Hotel, Ado Ekiti, which belongs to Ayo Fayose, where a list of APC leaders to be arrested on trumped-up charges was drawn. Prominent among those in the list include the chairman of APC, High Chief Jide Awe, chief of staff, Yemi Adaramodu, Sola Omonijo, Deji Adesokan, Dele Owoju, Richard Apolola, Niyi Adedipe, Rotimi Olambiwonninu, among others. “We are therefore calling on the police authority to check the excesses of these their men”. Reacting to the allegation the police public relations officer in the state, Mr Victor Babayemi said the command is working with the people to stop the violence in the state. Babayemi said, “Efforts are on to bring perpetrators of the murder of the NURTW boss to book. In doing this, we will leave no stone unturned. There will be no consideration for status or political affiliation. The command will be firm in carrying out its investigation and prevention. The command is unattached to any political party in the state”.
