APC GOV FAYEMI WILL GROUND EKITI HEALTH SECTOR! #Doctors in Ekiti threaten strike over stoppage of special allowance# For allegedly stopping payment of special allowances, otherwise known as Consolidated Medical Salary Scale to medical workers in all the 16 councils of Ekiti State,the parent body of doctors has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the state government to effect the payment or get ready for industrial action. Operating under the umbrella of Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, the body at a press briefing in Ado Ekiti, weekend, condemned the state government for its alleged refusal to pay the allowance to their colleagues working at the local government level The association equally warned the state government to stop imposition of what it described as undue taxation of its members across the state. The doctors said they are not satisfied with the heavy taxation on their call duty and other professional allowances. This warning came barely a week the teachers in the state joined their counterparts in a nationwide strike over unpaid 27.5 per cent TPA.
