APC! I DEY LAAFUU Oooo #APC, PDP At War Over 183 Arrested Osun Indigenes In Imo# The Osun State chapter of the APC and the PDP in the state are now at each other’s throats over the arrest and prosecution of 183 indigenes of the state in Imo State. The state PDP in a release made available in Osogbo, insisted that those arrested were APC thugs, who were saddled with the responsibility of perpetrating electoral fraud before nemesis caught up with them; the APC described the accusation as untrue and misleading. In a statement signed by the PDP Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, the party added that; “The arrested people were thugs going for the Anambra election with the aim of voting at the poll or why is it that some of the arrested people were aides of the state Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola,” the queried, “if not that they had been commissioned by the state governor to participate and rig in the just concluded election in the state.” Olaoluwa, who charged members of the public to disregard the claim by the APC that those arrested were election observers, called on the inspector-general of police to act promptly on the case so as not to sweep it under the carpet. He also charged the Minister of Justice and Attorney- General of the Federation to ensure proper probe of the matter, saying those arrested should not be allowed to go scot free. However, the APC in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi; said that; “It has been said times without number that the people who were arrested by the police in Owerri on their way to Anambra are observers who were duly accredited by INEC and the name of their organisation is on the list of observers released by INEC. What law prevents anyone from witnessing election anywhere in Nigeria? Are people from this country and other places not travelling to USA to witness presidential elections there, even when they are not observers?”
