APC To Jonathan: Apologise To Nasarawa People Over Failed Impeachment Anayo Onukwugha — Aug 8, 2014 The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to apologise to the people of Nasarawa State over the failed plot to impeach Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura by members of the State House of Assembly. The party also called on the people of the state to begin the process of recalling all the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers, who spear-headed the botched impeachment, thereby attempting to steal the mandate freely given to Al-Makura. The APC, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday and signed by the senior special assistant to the state chairman on Media and Publicity, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, urged the people of Nasarawa State to join other Nigerians to punish the PDP by denying it any elective position in 2015. The statement said; “It is very unfortunate that President Goodluck Jonathan hosted these lawmakers and failed to call them to order in their evil mission to ridicule our democracy and cause havoc to our political development. We hope that Mr. President will find time to apologise to the people of Nasarawa State for this unpresidential conduct that has caused Nigerians monumental psychological trauma. “We hereby urge the people of Nasarawa State to start without any delay, the immediate recall of all lawbreakers who call themselves PDP lawmakers and who orchestrated this failed attempt of stealing the mandate freely given to Governor Al-Makura by the people of the state.”
