#APCnPDP-Romance Buhari doing the Needful? We are once again at crossroads and whichever way you choose to look at it, 2015 is going to be another watershed in Nigeria’s politics. What we understand from 2005 to date is that no single can meet the ruling party. If we remain divided, we’ll be taken one by one and dealt with piecemeal.. ~Gen Mohammadu Buhari Who would ever believe that GMB will be travelling from one region to another begging members of the evil party peopled with men smelling of corruption to join his party the APC. I still find hard to believe because the greatest credential the Buhari media guys throw at us all this while was that the general abhors corruption and agents or friends of corruption as evidenced from his short stay as president of Nigeria. It is in this light that Buhari has distanced himself from those associated with corruption and beneficiary of corrupt practices in his quest to be Nigeria president and this has cost him the presidency over time. Following the successful merger of CPC, ACN.ANPP and Rochas faction of APGA it seem the retired military leader is ready to do the needful and play the politics the Nigerian way (Mind you most of the members of the new merger where once members, political gladiators, power brokers and staunch supporters of PDP who fell out in the power game). So the toga of anticorruption will just amount to self deception if the APC chose that to curry support from the masses rather I see the merger more as a way to curtail and if possible end the reign of the nihilistic PDP. APC is not necessarily the change Nigeria needs but when they are very strong and win a sizable number of seats against the dominant ruling party, there will be stiff competition and each will try to impress the masses through performance, through such way we may just have the change we seek in Nigeria I was impressed reading GMB statement, though I have some reservations but its a good development. However, what if after all these visits and appeals, the nPDP governors decide to remain in PDP? Because so far, they have been shouting they wanna leave but they dont seem to be in a hurry to leave. Are they really serious? Or this is just an attention seeking stunt?. Time shall tell. Lets keep our fingers crossed God bless Nigeria
