APOSTLES ABSOLUTELY NEED PROPHETS!!!!! Apostles need the prophets ministry. Prophets can help keep apostles from becoming rigid, legalistic, controlling or authoritarian. The input prophets can have in an apostles ministry is powerful. But especially because of the nature of a prophets ministry, there will have to be trust and relatiosnhip built between apostles and prophets in order for apostles to be able to fully receive from prophets. There is a dimensional aspect of a true prophets ministry that will appear at times confrontational and critical of existing structures that have become or are becoming obsolete and irrelevant. Prophetic leaders will be committed to consistently evaluate and critique structures and rituals out of a deep love for the Lord and for His church. Their desire is to not lose a generation because of obselescence of structures that are no longer able to contain new wine for a new generation. Prophets must work closely with apostles to keep the church from rigidity and unhealthy and unbiblical control that will constrict movement and hinder growth. Prophets will help keep apostles from functioning from the position of the letter that killeth and will help keep them in a place of the Spirit that giveth life. That is why God has designed these two foundational ministries to work and fucntion so closely together. Each has their blind-spots and needs the other to see accurately. The church is a movement - the Jesus Movement. It was never meant to be stationary and become institutional. It must maintain it incarnational life of Christ and missional Kingdom thrust. It must remain capable of being continually filled with new wine. Let the true prophets of Christ arise and help measure the church. Let the true prophets and true apostles of Christ synergistially work together in unity to see an incredible Kingdom advance for this new generation.
