APPRECIATION! On behalf of the YES Ambassadors, I wish to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of our historic youth summit. There are five types of people who made YES a reality: those who donated money to support the vision; those who volunteered their time to make YES a reality; those who packaged precious gifts and campaign materials to support the dream; those who committed hours of counseling, fasting and prayers to support the dream; those who embraced the vision but abandoned us half way; and those who came to investigate what it is that we’re really trying to achieve. In all these categories of genuine and pseudo supporters, we discovered our partners, comrades and constituents. Thank you all for your various contributions to the YES program. We are particularly indebted to our partners and speakers. Thanks to the OSSTF International Education Program, Toronto, Canada; the Director General of RUDA in Cross River State, Honorable Eko Atu; the Managing Director of Step By Step Education Consultants in Delain, China, Mr Paul Ifere; Professor Okoi Eduson of Strayer University in USA; The Editor-in-Chief and publisher of Yakurr Mirror, Mr Sebastine Eko; Mrs Ijaja Eno of New Jersey, USA; Honorable Eteng Jones Williams of the Cross River House of Assembly; the Coordinator of House of Gerard, Uyo, Ms Joy Israel; Leadership Coach and Mentor, Pastor Juliana Henshaw; Media personality and brand executive at Nigezie Communication, Lagos, Ms Wofai Samuel; Media Consultant at NTA Lagos, Ms Libby Offem-Oke; Event planning consultant and trainer, Ms Alice Enang; Honorable Osong Etowa; Mr Leboku 2012, Leo Eteng; Okoi Iwara Enang; Ubi Eno Inah; Gabriel Njom and Ms Victoria Meneateh, for their support. We’re indebted to the management of Cravings Hotel, Ugep, for their support throughout the duration of our planning. Very importantly, we are grateful to the team of musicians and choreographers whose creativity added color to the program. Thanks to Onen Emmanuel, who mobilized a team of youth from Idomi community to participate in the program. Thanks also to the youth leaders from Abi local government, whose effort contributed to the success of the program. Our distinguished keynote speaker Professor Oka Obono, had an international engagement in Dubai , yet saw the need to honor us by sending a powerful representative in the person of Dr Gabriel Ikpi who delivered a powerful speech that kept the audience awake. The industrialist and motivational speaker, Mr Ubong King flew in from Maputo, Mozambique, to inspire the youth with a powerful presentation that captivated hearts and minds. The award winning celebrity and Nollywood Ambassador Shan George was forced to cancel an important engagement in France because she saw the need to participate in this historic youth summit. The human rights activist, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, also abandoned an important political engagement to travel to Ugep and deliver a powerful presentation that exposed the truth about the role of government in youth empowerment. Mr Francis Ekom drew on his wealth of experience at TINAPA Resort to educate the youth about the various opportunities at their disposal and how they might take advantage of these opportunities to gain economic freedom. The Country Director a Canadian environmental NGO, OneSky, Mr Etim Omini, delivered a powerful presentation on how the youth can participate in development. Mr Otu Otu Arikpo of the Inland Revenue Service delivered an insightful presentation on the importance of taxation in local economic development. A development practitioner Mr Hope Obeten, educated the youth on how to use the internet as a tool for human development. The presentation from Komsy Advert Agency was equally as powerful. Thanks to their Managing Director who travelled from Uyo to educate the youth on how to maximize their talents and creativity as well as the opportunities available to those interested in making a career in the entertainment industry. The presentation from Trevor Corporation introduced a new way of participating in the global economy through network merchandise. Special thanks to Marty Eteng, who travelled all the way from Calabar to moderate the summit and also keep the youth awake. Finally, a special appreciation goes to our team of faithful and dedicated Volunteer Ambassadors who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the YES program. That’s because they saw the platform as an opportunity to develop their own leadership potential. God has revealed Himself as author of the vision that inspired the YES project. As this vision evolves into an all-encompassing leadership foundation, it will become a place where young men and women will be inspired to discover and embrace the purpose for which they are born and their role in national development; a place where inventors, innovators, visionaries and trailblazers will carve a path to their futures; and a place where a spirit of curiosity will drive young men and women to discover their unique capabilities and develop into leaders and agents of positive change who will turn problems into opportunity and ideas into action. Thank you all. Obasesam Okoi YES Coordinator
