APRIL BSPC WITH PASTOR CHRIS (29th March,2014) It is an ongoing training program for all leaders in the ministry The word of God is always important. If you are not listening to the word of God, youd be listening to something else. Thoughts have their sources, they may come from. God, the devil, thoughts that supposedly originate from man & have their sources and this we will see from the word. Our final authority is the word of God. We cannot accept mans opinion of things. There is only one word that should control our lives and that is the word of God. One extraordinary thing that God did for us was to send us the living word in the character of the person, so that should we be in doubt we can go to the word for clarifications and find them in Jesus. The title of this discussion 1 John 4:6-KJV, NIV 1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. The title of todays subject is THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH AND THE SPIRIT OF ERROR The spirit of error, the spirit of falsehood, the spirit of deceit, deception, the spirit of delusion. What is the spirit of truth, error, deception? There are certain phrases constructed by us and those by the Bible. Its important that when we lift this phrases from the Bible, we must check them up in the Bible. For instance to be born again is a phrase used by Jesus in scripture. This is not a denominational terminology. So we find this out in scriptures. John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. Here He is dealing with a person; then we see in the 16th verse where Jesus says that the comforter is the spirit of truth, meaning that the comforter is a person. Verse 26- John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. The comforter is the Holy Ghost John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: Jesus here tells us that the comforter is the spirit of truth John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. All of these will tell you the character of the personality we call the Holy Spirit. He guides you in all truth, he us the spirit of truth. He will show you things to come Verse 14 -Jesus says the Holy Spirit will glorify Him. What about the spirit of error, i.e. the spirit of deception, the spirit of falsehood 2 peter 4:4 2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. This personality that blinds people to the truth.....who could this be? 2 Corinthians 11:13-14 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. He calls them deceitful workers, transforming themselves as apostles of Christ. Matthew 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. He says the wicked one comes to catch away the word (not understood by the man), from his heart. 1 Timothy 4:1 Chapter 4 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Spirits that lure people with the spirit of error.... 1 Timothy 4:2-3 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. With these scriptures you can understand how this spirit of error operates..... Revelation 12:9-10 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. He is called the accuser, the old dragon, the old serpent, the devil which deceiveth the whole world. The spirit of error is the devil, the spirit of truth is the Holy Ghost. 1 John 4:1-3 Chapter 4 1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, ( why does he say this, hes not talking about dreams and visions here. John is looking at something here) but try the spirits ( test the spirits whether they are of God) whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world ( he begins to develop a sense for our understanding) . 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God (This is how youll know the spirit of God) : Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 4:4-6 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; ( ITS ABOUT THE SPIRIT SPEAKING THROUGH US AND THEM) he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Hes not just talking about false prophets, he says try the spirits. The spirit with which they speak. 2 John 1:6-11 KJV And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 2 John 1:6-11 NIV HOW DO YOU loose what you have worked for, by listening to these deceivers.. Some think that verse 7- This us dealing with making confessions, homologia, something you put your life in consonance with. Its a statement based on a lifestyle and way of doing things to glorify Jesus. Glorifying Jesus us more than saying that Jesus came in the flesh. Its about the teaching of a Christ. That SOIRIT must work in consistence with the teachings of Christ. Our understanding of Christ is what determines the quality if life that we live. He is not talking about us taking to spirits. He is saying that spirits talk to people and you must put to the test what is behind the spirits that talk to them. 1 Kings 22: Jehoshaphat serves God, Ahab doesnt serve God. You got a friend you believe is a Christian and you try to get spiritual guidance from them 1 Kings 22:1-21 Chapter 22 1 And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel. 2 And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel. 3 And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria? 4 And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses. 5 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the Lord to day. 6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king. 7 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him? 8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the Lord: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so. 9 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten hither Micaiah the son of Imlah. 10 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them. 11 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them. 12 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the kings hand. 13 And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good. 14 And Micaiah said, As the Lord liveth, what the Lord saith unto me, that will I speak. 15 So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king. 16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the Lord? Now here is what the prophet says....... 17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the Lord said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace. 18 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil? Micah brings an interesting thing into thus situation... 19 And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. 20 And the Lord said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. 21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will persuade him. 22 And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. 23 Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee. Now these prophets were not false prophets but good prophets and here God sends a lying spirit in their mouth. Why would God do this? Because they were in association with Ahab who was an evil man Verse 24- 1 Kings 22:24-25 But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from me to speak unto thee? 25 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself. Anger and .....the character of the prophet tells you whether the prophet is open to Gods Spirit or not. He stood against another prophet and slapped him, this tells you that this prophet is in error. 1-an evil spirit motivated these prophets and was in their mouth and they prophesied 2- His rage could not be controlled; he responded in anger and thats a sign You use the doctrine of Christ in the flesh to test the spirits. Christ revealed in a human being, the living word. Christ has taught us, if someone hits you on the left cheek, you turn the right cheek; we are not to react. Jehoshaphat should have known through the reactions of these 2 prophets who had the right spirit. He didnt respond to the prophet who did not react but the one whose rage could not be controlled and went to war and nearly lost his life..... Christ says dont react in anger.....Christ said to subdue your anger Christ teachings are consistent with the character of the Father We measure the things we listen to through Christs teachings in the flesh. The SPIRIT OF TRUTH : Whatever he says to you, will be consistent with Gods word, not your word. He isnt going to honour your word or religious beliefs he will honour Jesus The spirit of truth will always be consistent with the spirit of the word. Not every voice you hear is from God; It doesnt matter the personal fulfilment you derive from it., if its not consistent with the teachings of Christ, its not from Him. You can feel good about something wrong, you must test it with the character of Christ. Its about the revelation of Christ in you. He is here in you; its the doctrine, the teachings and Character of Christ he is dealing with. You are listening to a voice, to a spirit every time. A child of God has the ability to know the difference between the spirit of truth and error. You fill your heart with the word of God, by this you can know the difference between the two. The spirit of error causes you to stray from Gods path, just like Jehoshaphat. Ahab was worshipping both God and Baal and his prophets did the same, no wonder they were prone to these demons. How does someone yield to the spirit of error? This will take an interesting example from the Bible Matthew 16:21 Matthew 16:13-23 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. ( Jesus commends Peter here) 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. ( JESUS SAYS TO HIS DISCIPLES TO TELL NO MAN WHO HE WAS) 21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must ( Jesus began to teach, tell , expounded to them in scriptures how that He MUST suffer many things...... ) go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Now look at verse 22: Jesus already told them in the scripture; taught them using Jonahs story in the belly of the fish) 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee ( See Peter! Who does he think he is? Jesus earlier commends him on his revelation from God. The sane Jesus in the sane situation turns to Peter in verse 23 and says...), Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. This is what John says, to believe not every spirit but test the spirit. Jesus knows the first time Peter spoke, it was God and now He knows its not God talking through Peter. Peter is the one who said we have left everything and followed you......he has been concerned about what are we going to get out if this being with you, you cant talk about dying now!! Peter wouldnt have that! Jesus attacks the root course of his words in verse 24.....Peter has carnal cravings and its easy for him to yield to the evil one. Why do people yield to the spirit of error? Many in the last days will be deceived. 1- DECEPTION , deceit ,......People yield to the spirit of error when the adversary deceives them. Genesis 3:1-4 Chapter 3 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: The serpent challenges the word of God; indirectly confirming the word of God.this is the scheme of the devil in verse 5- People leave the church and say , my eyes opened and I left the church ......where you were being blessed?? Its not difficult to know what opened your eyes!! Genesis 3:5-19 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. ( Now they are doing things for themselves; Their eyes were opened? Where they blind before? No! They lived in Gods glory, everything was glorious. They were so conscious of God that they didnt know they were naked. They became self conscious and began to sow themselves figs......) 8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. (This has never happens to them before, they hear his voice and hide from God. They saw Him like themselves.... This is what happens when someone strays in the spirit of error, they dont know that The Lord knows all things more than they do....see. Peter rebukes Jesus; the Samaritan woman was ready to believe everything the Messiah that would come would teach......But Peter suddenly knows everything and rebukes Jesus) When the spirit of error takes over an individual they loose their reverence for God, they arrogate to themselves a higher authority than they should ever have. These are they who do not trust and insult the anointing, criticise the Pastor, speak nasty about the Pastor. They have no fear of the anointing and begin to rebuke their Pastor. Its a pity, how that people when they are ignorant of Gods word, their character and how they behave!! 9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. 16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. Eve lost everything......God drove them out of Eden because of this act 1 Timothy 2:11-15 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection ( He didnt say let all women, nor did he forbid a woman from teaching men ) 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. (Look at this here, Eve was the one who was deceived. Adams was not deceived, his issue was wilful disobedience. He followed his wifes direction. The woman should be subject to her husband. The woman should not dictate to the man or usurp his authority) 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. Genesis 3 Verse 17 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. Which means there are men, it takes the wife to convince them that they are not going to service today. He obeys her because he wants peace in the house and so that theres no commotion in the house. This means that the woman has usurped the authority of the man and soon God will visit judgement on this mans actions. Gods instruction was given to Adam and not to Eve. But Adam follows his wifes direction. God curses the ground for Adams actions.....he will suffer hardship and labour with hardship. Sarah and Abraham..... Sarah figures out how Gods instruction might happen for Abraham and gives him her bond maid Hagar to Abraham to sire a son named Ishmael. This was Sarahs idea and not Gods. Abraham did not seek Gods face on this scheme brought up by Sarah to produce an heir promised by God. This was Sarahs scheme and now she is offended; Abraham is offended when Sarah requests that He send away Hagar and her son.....She didnt raise hell with Abraham in order to convince him to send them away. Why did Abraham send them away? God approved Abraham to do so even thought God testified that Sarah mistreated Hagar. Remember it was Sarahs idea, to give her maid to her husband, Abraham got into trouble there for listening to his wifes voice. Eve led her whole family into trouble because she was deceived. If you advise your husband about something, leave it with him and God. Dont use your suggestions to make trouble. Husbands and wives are heirs of the kingdom and the same promise but they dont have the same authority in the home. Just calm yourself down & let it go; dont use this situation to control the atmosphere in your home by destroying the love, joy, peace in your own home. 2- The second thing that causes people to yield to the spirit of error is IGNORANCE David moved the ark of God to the city of David without being rightly informed on how to go about it, 2 Samuel 6:3-9 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart. 4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark. 5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals. 6 And when they came to Nachons threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. 7 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God. 8 And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day. 9 And David was afraid of the Lord that day, and said, How shall the ark of the Lord come to me? The anger of The Lord was there but they didnt know it. The ark that killed Uzzah, becomes a blessing in the house of Obededom By searching the scriptures David finds out his error Ignorance leads you into error. 1 Chronicles 15:1- 1 Chronicles 15:1-2 Chapter 15 1 And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent. 2 Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the Lord chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever. David here finds out that its the Priests that must carry the Ark...... Verse 4;11 1 Chronicles 15:4 And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites: 1 Chronicles 15:11-13 And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab, 12 And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it. 13 For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order. David says we got into trouble because we did not carry the ark after the due order. Being ignorant about the scriptures leads many into error Peter was ignorant about the scriptures Ignorance of the scriptures, gets you into trouble all the same 3- WILFUL DISOBEDIENCE Death came into the world through Adams wilful disobedience and lost the estate Another Person who wilfully disobeyed God was Saul 1 Samuel 28:7- 1 Samuel 28:7-8 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor. 8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee. Saul ignores the law of Isreal and consulted with a woman with a familiar spirit. Leviticus 20:27- Saul wilfully disobeys Gods instruction to utterly destroy Amalek Your offerings will not restore to you what you loose by disobedience. Thank God for the blood of Jesus Christ, it is the end and final appeasement of sins 1 Chronicles 10:13-14 So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; 14 And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse. What we have been dealing with has a lot to do with the last days. Just like there will be a great revival in the last days so also there will be a great falling away. It doesnt matter what level you attain , if you ignore the word of a God you will go into error. Never measure your sense of right or wrong through or by your feelings and opinions. This is what God calls idolatry, self worship. Jesus Christ is the Lord of your life, yield your opinions to Him. Your opinion is the opinion of Christ. Lets not run our lives with our own human opinion. We are to humble ourselves under the might hand of God. Dont challenge the decisions of the Pastor by challenging Him with your own choices. Dont become angry and divisive because your good suggestion was rejected 4- The desire for something that is wrong; something that God has said no to. Eve saw that the tree was something to be desired.....she allowed her desire to rule her and got herself into trouble. Exodus 32:1-9 Chapter 32 1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. 2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the Lord. 6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. 7 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: 8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 9 And the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: In chapter 20: God had given them instructions. Thou shall have no other gods before me, thou shalt not make of thyself any graven image......They made a golden calf, out it on a pedestal and began to worship that golden calf and proclaimed it as their lord God.....Aaron who would be priest did this!! Many years after this time, they did this again....1 Samuel 8:1- 1 Samuel 8:1-10 Chapter 8 1 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel. 2 Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba. 3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment. 4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, 5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. ( Their children much later did the sane thing, requesting for a human king, rejecting God) 6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord. 7 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. 8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. 9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them. 10 And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king. These people feel that to them it was the fact that Samuels sons were not like him and brings him the problem and giving the solution to be to ask for a King. Just because something has happened in the direction if your choice doesnt mean its the right thing; because you might get it and you may not have the opportunity to change your mind...... Prayer without submission to the word is mere religion. You submit yourself to the word of God, you change your mind and your way of thinking. The word of God should correct and reprove you. God gave us the word of a God to mould and control our lives. Your salvation came as a result of you submitting to His Lordship. Your submission to Christ is your submission to the word. The written word takes the place of the ascended Christ. Balaam......the dumb ass speaking forbade the madness of the prophet Judas..,.his downfall was as a result of his desire for money. People desire things that they should not be looking for and they enter into the error of the wicked. Which spirit is talking to you? Who have you been listening to? Jesus exhorts at the point of rebuking Peter,......for what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lois his own soul? What can a man give in exchange for his sin soul? Sometimes people make decisions in order to be comfortable with their friends..... 5- WRONG ASSOCIATIONS Proverbs 22:24 Proverbs 22:24-25 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: 25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul. Choose your friends Do they have that character of Christ? What spirit is speaking through them? Beloved test every spirit 1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV, AMP, NIV Bad company corrupts good manners Ministers of God are supposed to be a blessing to you When you hear people say nasty things about men of God, turn your ears away from them. These actions are often sponsored by satan. Dont be a part of it and you will find your life moving forward always. People who live like thus are angry, bitter people who dint know where they are and whose lives gave been destroyed. In our Ministry, we dont talk like this; this is not our culture!! From their character, by their fruits you shall know them. God doesnt contradict himself. There are those, who cannot find themselves being persuaded against taking the wrong path. These are they that someone has polluted and corrupted their pure minds..... 2 Peter 3:1 Chapter 3 1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: Satan always tries to pollute your pure minds How? Hebrews 12: Hebrews 12:15-17 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. A bitter person never keeps it to himself. He spreads it. Bitterness is a satanic spirit and every time it has an opportunity, he shares his bitterness with others. Everyone else who listens to it, who doesnt realise it becomes defiled with bitterness, anger, hatred. Thats why you must reject and rebuke such when you come in contact with them so you dont become defiled or ensnared by their bitterness, hatred and anger. Such people cant pray honestly. God says dont let your anger stay for long, get rid of it. Anger should not control you, you control it. How can Jehoshaphat who feared The Lord have such close ties with the one who had no close ties with The Lord such as Ahab? 1- When Ahab was going to get married who did he marry? 1 Kings 16: 31 1 Kings 16:30-34 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him. 31 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him. 32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. 33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him. 34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun. This is the man that Jehoshaphat made friends with The law in Isreal was that they were not to marry from other nations, yet Ahab marries the daughter of Hisbal the priest of Baal. Then He builds a shrine for Baal worship. These 2 kings both had sons- Joram King of Judah and Jehoram king of Isreal. Jehoshaphats son married Ahabs daughter because of their family friendship. He didnt turn out like his father but turned out like Ahab his Father in law eventually 2 Chronicles 21:4 2 Chronicles 21:4-6 Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel. 5 Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. 6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord. Studying the scriptures, you find people who yielded to the wrong voice We are dealing here about rebellion against the word of God See Aaron and Miriam.....why didnt they know that what was provoking them was wrong? 2 Samuel 24:1 Chapter 24 1 And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah. Verse 10: 2 Samuel 24:10 And Davids heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the Lord, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O Lord, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. Why didnt David know that what he was doing was wrong? God is getting the children of Israel ready for them to be judged for their errors This was the way they saw it, if something went wrong with you, God was behind it Davids remorse in verse 10 shows us that it wasnt God that moved David to number Israel. 1 Chronicles 21:1 1 Chronicles 21:1-2 Chapter 21 1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. 2 And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it. Verse 7- 1 Chronicles 21:7-8 And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel. 8 And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. Davids actions led to the death of 70,000 men! Why didnt David know that it was wrong Joab knew and persuaded the King not to do it p; we later were told the Joab didnt carry out Davids instruction to the letter. Another thing that pollutes the mind is PRIDE David here begins to rely on the number of his soldiers / army for war Dont just accept anything. What youre hearing is it increasing your love for God and Gods people? Be a part of the process of making brotherly love continue. You are insisting on the love of God in the Church, by walking in it, not by preaching it. Pastors give attention to the flock, in groups like the choir, fellowships in church. Make sure you disallow take bearers and take bearing in the house of God.. Proverbs 26:20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. Where there is no tale bearer, there is no strife. When strife continues, it means there is a tale bearer. They never tell the truth and pollute the minds of others. Get the tale bearer out, its the solution for the strife to cease. Proverbs 18:8 The spirit behind a tale bearer, is the spirit of error. Satan is the accuser of the brethren. Be he not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Dont allow take bearers in the church they are usually sent by satan Proverbs 18:8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. How do you know a tale bearer? Tale bearers always act like they love you more. They flatter with their lips. Run away from tale bearers or if you have authority over them, cast them out. Proverbs 20:19 He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. Leviticus 19:16 Leviticus 19:16-17 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people ( Satan is also described as going up and down) : neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the Lord. 17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. When we teach things like this to our brethren, we save them from a lot of heart ache in the future. If you sow discord, heart ache you will reap it in the future, and youll be defeated because you have lived by this principle. Every Christian, somewhere in your life, will be accused wrongfully, experience the travesty and miscarriage of justice. The accuser of the brethren accuses Gods people. You stay in Gods word, test the spirits. Dont use these wrong principles of accusing others it would work against you in the future. Q&A 1-If the husband is not submissive to Christ being a Christian or not....should the wife submit to him? 1 Peter 3:1-2 Chapter 3 1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; 2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. NIV & AMP Dont walk in the counsel of the ungodly Let the advise you take from anyone be consistent with Gods word, else youd get into trouble. 2- Can a wife submit to unscriptural instructions given by the husband? Dont use the scripture to become disobedient at home 3- Does a Christian loose his authority when he sins? Why would you displease The Lord by committing sin? 4- The bible says to restore those in error, with the spirit of love, considering yourself lest you too are tempted. You encourage with love, visitation, and kindness. Men always reject suggestions from a spouse who tends to be domineering and makes him look like a fool. Give your suggestions with respect and regard. You cannot be ignorant if you are yielded to the Holy Spirit and the word If you listen to the Holy Spirit and searching the scriptures youll not be ignorant 5- The wife is his Pastor in church; he married a wife not a Pastor and vice versa. They are married as husband and wife. The Pastor doesnt have a husband or wife in church matters. When you stand before God, you stand alone. The husband is not the husband of the church, neither dies he have authority in the things of the church nor give suggestions about pastoral issues in the church. He can only give suggestions as a brother in church to the wife-pastor. If she was a CEO of Chevron or a Doctor, you wouldnt because you were her husband address the staff of Chevron or attempt a surgery on her behalf in the hospital. Offerings cannot restore what we lost through disobedience. Disobedience can only be remitted by the blood of Christ. Our offerings dont cause a restoration. They are an extension of our faith, a release / demonstration of my faith of who He is to me. Only the blood of Christ removes sin. Taking the holy communion and water baptism are acts of faith. Our hood works will never make us pure before God. There many things we do as Christian acts of righteousness as people who walk by faith and not by sight. Giving our offering is a corresponding action based on our spiritual faith toward God. You are not to replace your knowledge of the word except to discard whats not useful; But you are to add more faith to your faith, more knowledge to your knowledge, renewing your mind so that you are growing. Fasting and Prayer is part of your spiritual exercise Fasting is a worship to The Lord Ptadzworld
