APU is launching the ‘Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan The Chancellor said that Mahatma Gandhi dedicated his life for freedom of our country and strengthening communal harmony. At the same time, he also advocated for cleanliness and good habits. In pursuance of his ideas, Government of India is launching ‘Mission Swachchh Bharat’ on this occasion to create a ‘Clean India’ of Gandhiji’s dreams. The Chancellor has appealed to the students of the University for their active participation in the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan. He urged upon the students to devote at least two-hours every week towards cleanliness. The Chancellor said that it is the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to have a five-year programme to make the country clean. The goal is to achieve a Swachchh Bharat by 2nd October 2019, as a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary. My University is fully committed to accomplish this mission.
