ARAB NEWS: SEPT. 14, 2013 Overstaying Filipinos told to legalize status RIYADH: RODOLFO C. ESTIMO JR. | ARAB NEWS STAFF Philippine Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago renewed his call Thursday to all overstaying Filipinos in the Kingdom to avail themselves of the Deportation Office’s facilities within the legalization period. He advised them to avoid delays in the processing of their documents and to get them done before the Eid Al-Adha holidays, which begin on Oct. 11 and end on Oct. 20. Those who fail to do so face penalties and imprisonment, he said. He noted that the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah repatriated 3,020 Filipinos through government funding since the start of the legalization period. The envoy added that women can visit the passport office from 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Tuesdays in Riyadh. They should bring their original iqama or passport with entry visa or fingerprint records. Men can visit Jawazat from 5 p.m. on Thursdays, bringing in the same documents. He added that they should proceed early to the passport office since nationals from other countries are also included in the schedule. “They should also ensure that there are no pending car registration issues, bank loans, unpaid traffic violation penalties or any other records under their names. Those who have pending police records will not be issued exit visas,” he said. All documents presented must be authentic. Possession of fake documents may result in imprisonment. The passport office in Dammam accepts Filipinos any day of the week.
